Photo Friday (Snowpocalypse Edition)

I live in Georgia, go to school in Georgia, and this week the most incredible thing happened... it snowed. It actually snowed. I grew up around snow & I've seen snow many times before, but having it snow here, where it never ever ever snows, was amazing.

On Tuesday, afternoon classes were cancelled and the anticipation began. We went to the grocery store to stock up on food and played Just Dance for hours. We watched the rain turned to sleet, and finally the sleet turned to snow. We spent the night sledding down the hill, walking around campus, and reveling in the fact that classes were cancelled.

Unfortunately, a few hours away in Atlanta it wasn't all snowball fights and sledding. A ton of people were stranded and were stuck on the highway, but the community came together (read more about it here) and provided for one another. That's what was so magical about our snow day-- the community came together & everyone on campus was having fun. It felt like some sort of weird dream walking around campus and seeing everything and everyone covered in snow. It's a memory I'm never going to forget.

Photo Friday

I've officially been in school 3 weeks, and I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I will admit though, I'm still not completely used to this schedule... hence the lack of posts on here (sorry about that). It's going to be a crazy, busy semester, but I'll keep posting as always. It might get sparse here and there, but I love this too much to give it up. Anyways, I hope you all are having a good Friday so far. It's finally the weekend and I couldn't be more happy.

It's been a week full of sunsets,

sunrises,

filming,

friends,

and adventures.

Have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday.

January Ipsy Bag

I've been really impressed with the Ipsy bags I've received over the past couple months, and this one didn't disappoint either. It's introduced me to a lot of brands & products that I never would've picked up on my own. I've decided to start giving a rating for each bag, and this one gets a 3.5/5. If you'd like to see my mini-review of each product, I made a video about it. Check it out down below!

Finding Happiness

We're a couple weeks into the new year already, but I wanted to share one goal of mine that I've found to be quite helpful. This was a resolution of mine last year as well, which was to do more things that made me happy. Vague, yes, but it is something that I think is so important.

I've realized that I'm in a huge transitioning period of my life. I'm constantly trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'm constantly taking new classes, living in new places, finding new part time jobs, etc, etc. I'm someone who doesn't always take changes easily... so this leads me to a lot of worrying, a lot of stress, and a lot of focus on the future instead of what's happening right now.

What I have to do, and what many of us surely need to do, is constantly remind ourselves that we deserve happiness. Whatever your worries are in life are assuredly valid, important reasons to stress about-- but we can't live with just the worries. We deserve to be happy. We deserve to do what it takes to find that happiness.

So do something that makes you happy. Start small-- take a walk, read a book, talk to an old friend, make cookies, donate your old clothes, or watch that movie you've been wanting to see. Then maybe move onto something big-- finally set a date, go on a mission trip, move, let go of a bad influence, lose that weight, or find a new job.

The thing I've realized about the typical New Year's Resolutions is that they're usually all things that will bring you happiness. Things that will better yourself. And remember that taking those steps to find happiness isn't a selfish thing... it's actually kind of necessary. You really deserve it.

Let me know one thing that you'll be doing to find happiness. I'll definitely be sharing some the things I do on here with you guys.

I hope you have a happy weekend.

Photo Friday

It's been a bit of a process adjusting to the end of Christmas, the New Year, and my schedule this semester. I have a lot of new & fun stuff to work on for you guys, but I'll be honest... this semester is going to be a doozy. Regardless of all that, it is finally Friday and I can regroup this weekend. I hope you all have been enjoying the new year so far. Here are a few Instagram photos from the past couple weeks-- from flea markets and Christmas trees, to wheelchair shenanigans (I'm not injured by the way).

Have a relaxing weekend!

New Year, New Hair

After many, many months of debating when I would actually chop off my hair, I finally decided I would do it for the new year. The last time I did a dramatic cut like this was during my Sophomore year of high school. Since I'm now in my Sophomore year of college (4 years later), I figured it was about time for a change. I'm not exactly sure how much I cut, I'm guessing 10-12 inches, but it will be sent off to Pantene's Beautiful Length program. Last time I cut it, I really missed my long hair. This go-around, I love it!

If you have any questions about long hair, short hair, or the switch, let me know! I plan to do a few more posts about it in the future.

Beginning

Today, I wanted to talk a little about resolutions. This time last year I think I came up with 4 New Year's resolutions... and I successfully reached 2 of them. So, because of my imminent failure I've made the decision not to make any resolutions. There are still goals I want to achieve of course, but labeling it a "resolution" just puts that weird pressure on it. I haven't finalized what those goals are, but I'm sure I'll share some sort of list on here soon.

Are you guys resolution makers? Let me know them in the comments! And I'd like to officially wish you all a Happy 2014! Even though I'm still dealing with the fact that Christmas is actually over, I'm very excited for this new year.

Happy Monday.

Favorite Moments of 2013

Well, 2013 has been a pretty great year. Although nothing too monumental happened, it was full of so many beautiful memories. I'm quite the nostalgic person, so today I wanted to share a my favorite moments from the past year (in chronological order, of course).

Becoming a sister of Alpha Gamma Delta.
I never, ever, ever thought I would be in a sorority, so I think this was a shock to several people. But, I became friends with a few of the members and joined back in the Spring. It has been an amazing experience so far-- I've met some amazing people, and friends that I know I'll have forever. I honestly wouldn't change a thing.

Finishing my first year of college.
College was always a part of my plan, but I never really knew what I wanted out of it. Not many people know this, but Freshman year wasn't a great time for me. I spent a lot of time rethinking and overanalyzing every single one of my decisions. It wasn't until the end of the year where I really felt that I had found my place there.

Starting a blog.
This was something I wanted to do for ages, & at the start of summer I finally launched Je M'appelle Molly. It's been an incredible process, & I love having a place to share my thoughts and inspirations with others. I love what this has become, but I can't wait to see where it goes.

Seeing my brother graduate.
Correction... seeing my brother graduate and become a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. As much of a knuckle head as my brother is, I am so proud of him. Seeing him start a new chapter in his life was something I'll never forget-- and seeing him shake the President's hand was pretty cool, too.

My summer job.
At first I wasn't too excited to spend every day at my old school, but it turned out to be a pretty awesome job. I was a summer camp counselor, and I loved being able to work with kids. Even though they were obnoxious half the time, there were a couple kids that really impacted me. Definitely a summer I won't forget.

Declaring my major.
I've known what I wanted to major in since I started college, but officially declaring it was a pretty awesome moment. It sort of solidified everything for me, and now I can focus on figuring out what I want to do with it. By the way, I'm now a Media Studies major with a minor in Photography.

Finding happiness.
I guess this isn't really a specific moment, but we'll overlook that. And please don't think I was terribly depressed before or anything. It's just that one of my resolutions for 2013 was to do more things that made me happy. I've done a lot of those things, but more importantly I've gotten to a place where I'm content. I'm happy with my friendships, with myself, and with my choices in life. I don't really know where it's all going, but I'm happy with where I am so far.

Thanks for a great year. Here's to 2014!
