Thoughts on a Monday (Numero Dos)

Random Monday thoughts...
-Does anyone want to do my laundry?
-How about that French homework?
-Paris seems amazing, I'd just rather skip that class.
-2 more weeks of classes and I'll be free.
-What the heck am I going to do all summer?
-The joy of finding summer jobs.
-The joy of summer though.
-I can't wait to be home.
-School is cool, but dorm rooms & the beach 3 hours away sucks.
-Homeward bound this weekend.
-My mom is the best.
-Lena Dunham magazine covers await.
-Girls needs to come back on.
-All my favorite shows are ending.
-Let's finish watching Freaks & Geeks first.
-Along with some M&Ms and gummy bears.
-Yum.
-So, about that laundry...

Someone please save me from my boredom. Happy Monday.

Thoughts on a Monday

Random Monday thoughts...
-Coffee was very much needed this morning.
-Why don't I ever go to bed at a decent time?
-(Googles insomnia)
-YouTube is just so addicting though
-And a new episode of Girls will be out tonight (!!!!)
-Lena Dunham's book is officially a go
-I'm going to actually read that book, mark my words
-I also need to read The Fault in Our Stars and sob my eyes out
-The fact that Shailene Woodley is playing the lead in the movie makes me want to sob my eyes out
-SLOTAT forever...
-Whenever the office phone rings I have a mini panic attack
-Transferring calls will be the death of me
-Why so many buttons?
-I need to watch Les Misérables immediately
-That picture of Anne Hathaway without teeth will forever haunt me
-I dreamed a dream in time gone by
-I had a dream that I would floss more
-So far unsuccessful
-Unsuccessful like that Psych test... oops
-Can I take a nap now?

Well, that about sums it up. Happy Monday.

Beginning

Today, I wanted to talk a little about resolutions. This time last year I think I came up with 4 New Year's resolutions... and I successfully reached 2 of them. So, because of my imminent failure I've made the decision not to make any resolutions. There are still goals I want to achieve of course, but labeling it a "resolution" just puts that weird pressure on it. I haven't finalized what those goals are, but I'm sure I'll share some sort of list on here soon.

Are you guys resolution makers? Let me know them in the comments! And I'd like to officially wish you all a Happy 2014! Even though I'm still dealing with the fact that Christmas is actually over, I'm very excited for this new year.

Happy Monday.

Swift

So here's what happened. Last night I was looking for some inspiration for today's blog post, and instead of heading to Pinterest like I normally do, I went to my Tumblr. I started looking through all of my "likes," looking for something profound. After a minute of scrolling I realized it was mainly just sappy quotes, Finding Nemo gifs, and pictures of Taylor Swift. I tried to find something incredibly insightful that wasn't just about me thinking about life at 3 in the morning, but it didn't work. Here's a picture of Taylor instead. She's kind of my favorite, and I'm sure I'll fangirl over her at a later time, so for now here's a picture of her hair flipping while singing All Too Well. A favorite of mine, of course. Is this incredibly random? Perhaps. Also I'm very sleepy, but that's nothing new.

Oh yes, Happy Monday. Sorry for the rambling.

Homesick

Right now I'm at college, so home is a three hour drive from here. I came to school around the second week of August, and haven't been home since. I think it's the longest I've been away, and I'm really starting to miss it. This semester has been super busy, so there just hasn't been a good time to head home. I'm also car-less, so going home just for a night is pretty impractical. I just miss sleeping in my own bed, and having my mom in the next room over. I miss driving down the same familiar roads. I miss my backyard. One thing I miss the most about home is always having my dog, Hershey(seen above), right there. This is definitely the longest since I've seen her. She's getting really old, so I'm always a little scared something might happen while I'm gone. I think I'll get to go home in about 3 weeks though, and I cannot wait. I know there are a ton of people who are in the same boat I am, so I shouldn't be complaining. I just miss it. I also apologize for the very whiny post today... it won't happen again for a bit, I promise.

I'm curious, how have you dealt with being homesick?

Oh Monday.

We've come to the most challenging day of the week... again. Oh how lovely Mondays are.

The weekend is over, but I didn't even catch up on sleep.
Whyyy do I have to go to class.
There's so many things I still need to do.
Oh man, I forgot to do that one thing..
Work could not be more boring.
Is it nap time yet?
Is it Friday yet?

Basically Mondays are the worst. I'm sure though, there is someone out there who is having the most incredible day of their life. Even though that may not be you, there's going to be some amazing moment today. Maybe something made you laugh or smile or think or reflect. Whatever it is, remember it when the not so fun parts of the day roll around. Mondays are the absolute worst, I agree, but don't let that spoil your day. Have fun today. Enjoy!

Begin Again

Mondays and I have an interesting relationship. Usually I despise them, because that means I have to head back to school/work. There are those rare occasions though, when I see them as a new beginning, and that's when I start to think Mondays aren't so bad. I start my Sophomore year of college tomorrow which is just crazy to me. I know there are many crazy & exciting & tiring Mondays ahead of me, but I think I'm ready for it. To those of you who are starting back at school, or work, or really anything.. I wish you the best of luck! I think it's going to be a great year.

Food, Flowers, & Fun

Happy, happy Monday to you all! This is the first Monday I haven't had to wake up at 6 am in quite some time, and I can't complain. Friday was my last day of work, & though I'm sad I won't get to see all the kiddos anymore, I'm quite happy to have some time to relax. In just a few days I head back to school, so it's nice to have a few days off before then. I spent a lot of this weekend catching up on sleep, eating good food, and fighting off some sort of cold/allergy thing that's going on in my nose. So fun.

To celebrate work being over/summer/I was just thirsty, Amanda and I got slushies. Contrary to what it says, it only cost 52 cents. I opted for a cherry/coke combo.

I can't resist taking pictures of flowers. It's just in my nature. ;)

My mom actually had a Saturday off from work! So we spent some of the day shopping, and eating at Tubby's. I love, love their crab stew.

A lovely pond/fountain filled with fishies that I saw while we were out shopping.

First fresh corn of the summer season. My mom and I were seriously questioning ourselves because we haven't been eating it all summer long.

Last night my dad took me to Leoci's for dinner before I head back to school. I had spaghetti & meatballs and it was delicious.

My outfit for dinner! Of course, I managed to spill sauce on the single white strip of fabric on my new shirt. Geeze.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

"Camping" Adventures

This weekend my friends and I packed up our tents and headed out to go camping. Amanda's grandparents were kind enough to let us use their farm as a campground, but the humidity, mosquitos, and rain forced us to stay in the cabin. The air conditioned cabin with an accessible bathroom... really roughing it. We're all heading back to school soon, so it was nice to get away and have some fun. We spent the night playing cards, sitting by the fire, and almost sinking the golf cart in a mud puddle. Definitely a weekend I won't forget.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! & Happy Monday!

It Could Be Worse

Sometimes toilets overflow and water seeps into your closet so you have to move everything and dry it with the noisiest of fans. It happens. You might have to climb over things to get to your dresser. You might have to sleep on the couch. But hey, it could be worse. I found a wallet I'd been looking for, so that's a plus. As frustrating as it is, I think this is one of those moments where you just have to sit back and laugh because really, accidents happen... and toilets are funny.

Happy Monday.

Weekend End

I was very sad to see this weekend end. It was a weekend of crafting for the most part, 2 trips to Michael's included. Although I didn't do much, it was really nice to just spend time relaxing and creating new things. I will be sharing what I've done (and today's photo is a clue for that), but for now I'll just try to survive through this Monday. I give Monday's a lot of crap, but they can be alright. You just have to look for the positive things! For example... I have a new phone case coming today! Hooray for getting packages! And hey, only 4 more days until it's the weekend. We've got this. :)

Let me know one positive thing about your Monday!

The Weekend

After a long, relaxing weekend I really am not looking forward to heading back to work. 6 AM is going to come at me like a ton of bricks. Here are a few snaps from my weekend. I got to spend a few days out on the beach and by the pool where my dad rented a place. It was nice to see some of my family and enjoy the beautiful weather. We even saw dolphins flipping around in the ocean! I'll never get tired of seeing that. Happy Monday to you all!

How was your weekend?

Happy Monday

Now that I have a summer job and work Monday through Friday, I am back into the routine of hating Mondays. Sigh. So, to try to rid us all of the Monday blues I thought I'd share this sweet quote. I'm hoping this week will be a productive one, but I've got to remember to take the time to do things that make me happy. To appreciate those little happy moments that can so easily slip away. To make the most of today.

Happy Monday.

A Haul For You All

After a few trips to the store, I've accumulated a few different products I wanted to share with you all. My hair has gotten pretty long and it's become a bit difficult to manage so I wanted to buy a few products that might help with that. I went to Ulta to find the Not Your Mother's Detangler, but it wasn't in stores. Instead I picked up the Tangle Teezer which I am convinced is a Houdini brush. If you have long or tangled hair, I highly recommend it. To help with serious tangles, I picked up Johnson's detangler because kids detanglers always seem to do a good job (who knows). I've seen a few tutorials using products similar to the Hot Tools Rollers, so I thought I'd give them a try as well, since my hair takes forever to style. I also picked up Target's Blackhead Scrub, NYC's Sunny Bronzer, and Orly's Rage; a few products I've been wanting to purchase.

Sorry about the short post! I have to write this quickly because tomorrow (well, today) I'm starting my first day of work and I have to be up at 6... which is a difficult task for me. Wish me luck. Are there any products you've recently purchased?
