Photo Friday

Well, long time no blog post. Oopsie. I could sit here and write excuses as to why I haven't been writing but I don't think anyone really cares. So, instead let's celebrate the awesome fact that it is finally Friday and oh my goodness I'm so happy. This weekend is going to be a bit busy, but I'm so excited. In traditional Je M'appelle Molly fashion, shall leave you with some Instagram pictures from the past couple weeks. Some more photos are coming from my spring break trip up North, and hopefully a video are coming soon!

Photo Friday (Snowpocalypse Edition)

I live in Georgia, go to school in Georgia, and this week the most incredible thing happened... it snowed. It actually snowed. I grew up around snow & I've seen snow many times before, but having it snow here, where it never ever ever snows, was amazing.

On Tuesday, afternoon classes were cancelled and the anticipation began. We went to the grocery store to stock up on food and played Just Dance for hours. We watched the rain turned to sleet, and finally the sleet turned to snow. We spent the night sledding down the hill, walking around campus, and reveling in the fact that classes were cancelled.

Unfortunately, a few hours away in Atlanta it wasn't all snowball fights and sledding. A ton of people were stranded and were stuck on the highway, but the community came together (read more about it here) and provided for one another. That's what was so magical about our snow day-- the community came together & everyone on campus was having fun. It felt like some sort of weird dream walking around campus and seeing everything and everyone covered in snow. It's a memory I'm never going to forget.

Photo Friday

It's been a bit of a process adjusting to the end of Christmas, the New Year, and my schedule this semester. I have a lot of new & fun stuff to work on for you guys, but I'll be honest... this semester is going to be a doozy. Regardless of all that, it is finally Friday and I can regroup this weekend. I hope you all have been enjoying the new year so far. Here are a few Instagram photos from the past couple weeks-- from flea markets and Christmas trees, to wheelchair shenanigans (I'm not injured by the way).

Photo Friday

This week has been a pretty cool one so far. Although I've known what I wanted to major & minor in since I came to school, I officially did it this week! I am now (officially) a Media Studies major with a Photography minor. I'm pretty dang happy about it. Today I'm headed to Atlanta for Georgia Tech's homecoming... but mainly to see my best friend Anna. I can't wait. Plus, it's officially November! We are one month away from Christmastime people, get ready. And in honor of me officially declaring my major/minor, I thought I'd share some work from my Pinhole Photography class for today's Photo Friday. I'll probably do a more in depth post about Pinhole later on, but this is what I have for now!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

I always start to want to make change around this time of year. Maybe it's the changing of the seasons, or getting back into school, but all of the sudden I feel like something isn't right. I want a hair cut or I want to focus on working out again. I second guess myself and wonder if I'm choosing the right path in life (whoa, there). I think about my future and worry and stress myself out and it just all becomes kind of silly. Sure, I think it's healthy to question yourself, to mentally check-in and see how things are going, but I don't think it is okay to worry so much. Change is good, it's a natural thing, but you have to slow down a bit. There's no need to change everything at once. So, just calm down. You won't be able to change everything overnight.

Now, hopefully I can take my own advice.

DIY: Sea Glass Frame

Back in May my family and I went up to Maryland for my brother's graduation. We were staying at a house right on the water, and spent a lot of time walking on the beach looking for sea glass. I've been wanting to do something with it for a while, and just recently gave an old picture frame a makeover.

I picked up these 2 frames at Goodwill. I think they were even on sale, and my total came out to be 75 cents or something crazy cheap like that. I ended up using the one on the right for this project!

I painted the frame first with this acrylic paint -- huge mistake. What was I thinking? I got this because it is usually the cheapest paint I can find. It took a million layers, but it turned out just fine. I used tacky glue to adhere the sea glass on, which worked very well.

Waiting for everything to dry! It was a night of crafting, so I was making this while watching Identity Thief. Fun times.

I've yet to print any photos from the Annapolis trip, so until then this photo is hanging out in the frame. A throwback to one of my mission trips with my best friends.

Happy 4th of July!

Sparklers, anyone?

Happy Fourth everyone! Today is my day off, so hopefully I'm still asleep when this posts, enjoying the holiday. I'm ready to spend the day eating pie, wearing red, white, & blue, and watching fireworks. Every week at the summer camp I work at we have a new theme, and this weeks is "USA." We've been doing fun crafts like making Uncle Sam masks and finger painting flags. It's all been very fun, & it's gotten me in a good mood for the Fourth. Whether you are celebrating the holiday or you live in another country, I hope you have a absolutely lovely day! What are your plans? New Project

This "New Project" is inspired by Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter. She just finished up her 30 Day Snap series on her blog and posted the final collage of all the pictures yesterday. I thought it would be a fun challenge for myself to take a picture every single day and make a lovely compilation of them all at the end of each month. I won't be uploading a picture on here every day, and I will continue with Photo Fridays, but there will just be a fun collage of all the photos at the end of the month, similar to Louise's in this post... that is if I remember to snap a picture everyday. :)
