I live in Georgia, go to school in Georgia, and this week the most incredible thing happened... it snowed. It actually snowed. I grew up around snow & I've seen snow many times before, but having it snow here, where it
never ever ever snows, was amazing.
On Tuesday, afternoon classes were cancelled and the anticipation began. We went to the grocery store to stock up on food and played Just Dance for hours. We watched the rain turned to sleet, and finally the sleet turned to snow. We spent the night sledding down the hill, walking around campus, and reveling in the fact that classes were cancelled.
Unfortunately, a few hours away in Atlanta it wasn't all snowball fights and sledding. A ton of people were stranded and were stuck on the highway, but the community came together (read more about it
here) and provided for one another. That's what was so magical about our snow day-- the community came together & everyone on campus was having fun. It felt like some sort of weird dream walking around campus and seeing everything and everyone covered in snow. It's a memory I'm never going to forget.
