September Ipsy Bag

It's taken me a while to find a beauty subscription that I really loved. I thought about Birchbox for a while, but after seeing some reviews I sort of lost interest. I wasn't too impressed with Ipsy at first either, but I watched a ton of unboxing videos and finally chose Ipsy. It seemed to have the best samples, & it's only $10 a month. Not too bad. This is the first bag I've received, and I'm quite impressed! If you want to sign up as well, check out Ipsy here.

I love mascara, so getting a sample of one I've never tried before was pretty cool. After trying it a few times, I'm not super impressed. It's kind of stringy (it sort of looks like it has fibers in it), but it tends to clump my lashes. Maybe it's one of those mascaras that is awesome once it's dried out a bit.

First, what's with the name of this? Fantabulous-- it cracks me up. Second, I'm really weird about lipstick and sort of hate wearing it. Third, I'm as white as a ghost, so this color looked very odd on me. Although I will say, it isn't too awful when you just dab it on your lips a bit.

I rarely wear eyeliner, but it's certainly nice to have one when I actually decide to wear it. I haven't really worn this yet, but I will say that it stays on fairly well... meaning you will look like a raccoon if you don't thoroughly wash your eyes in the shower.

One to purify, one to brighten, and one to hydrate-- I think these masks are my favorite products I received this month. I used the hydrating one before I took pictures, and I really liked it. I don't think it did anything incredibly amazing for my skin, but it was a nice, pampering product. I'd never used a paper mask before, so I'm glad I got to try one. I did have to cut the eyes a bit bigger and adjust it a bit, but I was really impressed with these!

I hate & love this eyeshadow. I've never tried anything from NYX, but I've been wanting too, so I was excited! It's a nice grey color for Fall and Winter, it has sparkle to it, but it doesn't have the best pigmentation. A bummer. You can build it up, but it isn't the easiest product to work with. Love/hate with this one, but I still want to try more NYX products!

I hope you enjoyed! I do have another post planned for this week, so watch out for that!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

I always start to want to make change around this time of year. Maybe it's the changing of the seasons, or getting back into school, but all of the sudden I feel like something isn't right. I want a hair cut or I want to focus on working out again. I second guess myself and wonder if I'm choosing the right path in life (whoa, there). I think about my future and worry and stress myself out and it just all becomes kind of silly. Sure, I think it's healthy to question yourself, to mentally check-in and see how things are going, but I don't think it is okay to worry so much. Change is good, it's a natural thing, but you have to slow down a bit. There's no need to change everything at once. So, just calm down. You won't be able to change everything overnight.

Now, hopefully I can take my own advice.

Photo Friday

This week has been crazy, fun, and stressful all at the same time. There's a lot of little things I have been worrying about lately, but I know they'll all work out. Exciting stuff has happened too! I finally got a job that I think won't be too stressful, and will still give me time to work on fun things (ahem, blogging). I'm also planning a trip to Annapolis to see my brother in just a couple weeks which I am SO excited about. Anyway, I wish everyone a happy weekend! Here are a few Instagram photos from the last couple weeks.

My college just started football back up this year. We won our first game, and it was so much fun!

I was bored waiting for a meeting to start, so I sat in the back of the classroom... as cool kids do.

Throwing it back. I'd like to have those sunglasses back, please.

Amanda came to visit me, so of course we had to stop by Baskin Robbins. Yum.

I am in love with this picture. We were either dressed up like this for a wedding, or Easter, but I'm pretty sure I would've been dressed like that anyway. I was such a girly girl.

Have a wonderful, amazing, fantastical weekend!

Never Forgetting

We have to remember those who were taken from this world too early. Those who risked their lives to save others. Those who fight for this incredible country. We have to remember how it brought us together, how it effected us all. We have to remember how precious life is, how lucky we are to be here, and we have to never, ever, ever forget.

Dorm Room Tour!

I shared a video of me moving into college, and a few of my dorm decorating ideas, so I figured I might as well show you guys my room! I live in a suite style dorm, so I have a roommate and share a bathroom with two other girls as well. It's not the most glamorous place, but I'm pretty happy with it. I hope you enjoy!

Looking Forward to Fall

It's still 90 degrees out everyday, but I am so ready for Fall. Sweating on my way to class everyday is getting old. I hate Halloween, so I don't know why I get so excited... I think it's because it means Christmas is that much closer. I really can't wait. I also can't wait until actually becomes an acceptable temperature for me to be wearing a sweater, as well as a few other things.

H&M Sweater: So many colors to choose from & THEY HAVE POCKETS
F21 Infinity Scarf: I love the basic black & white pattern
Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner: In a deep, jewel toned purple (there's also a dark blue!)
Topshop Dress: Because polka dots are amazing and so are dresses
Revlon Balm Stain: You can dot the color on your lips for a lighter wash, or go all out
Target Jeggings: These are so comfortable & affordable

Photo Friday

I could not be more happy that it's finally Friday. Today I just wanted to share a few things that have made me smile this week.

I don't think I'm quite this addicted to social media, but sometimes I get pretty close. Although, I did fall asleep with my laptop the other night...

I miss my dog so much. Every time I see a puppy walking around my heart melts. It may not be good for my health, but I follow World of Labs on Instagram and it makes me so happy... and then miss my dog more.

I love this picture. I recently found it on Pinterest, and I fell back in love. I'm pretty sure I had this on my MySpace profile back in middle school. Too cool.

I have yet to see The Great Gatsby and I'm going a bit crazy. Hopefully I can borrow it from someone, because I just keep watching the trailer in awe.

And a fun little quote to leave you all with. This is one of Sarah Trumbauer's sweet prints. I was recently given one of them, and I just adore it.

I know I say this every Friday, but I really do hope you have a wonderful weekend. Be sure to take some time to relax and get away from the stresses of the work week. Have a great one!

August Favorites

I'm not going to lie, I was in shock when I looked down at my phone and saw that it was September 1st already. I don't know that August necessarily went by quickly, but I realize now that Summer is officially over, and it's time to really focus on school. Oh how fun. The past couple weeks have been a little hectic since I've been back. I've been on the hunt for a job (which has so far been unsuccessful. woo.), my sorority had recruitment, and I've just been figuring out how to get back into the school routine. So, without further ado, here are a few of my favorites things that helped me survive August.

I've been loving both of these products for keeping my lips from drying out. At night I also put a little of the rose salve on any blemishes I have... and sadly there have been quite a few lately.

I used this every day during recruitment and it worked wonders. Instead of clamping my hair and then curling it, I just wrap my hair around like it was a wand. I think it gives me a bit more control & it's a lot faster.

I bought a teeny bottle of this before coming to school, and I'm so happy I did. Whenever I curl my hair it tends to fall out a bit, and this helped hold everything in place for a little bit longer.

I don't know how I went all summer without having these. I am in love. They're great for a quick breakfast or snack (or both). These are my two favorite kinds.

I thought this was discontinued for some reason, but over the summer I found it (on sale) at GAP. I've been using it everyday this month. It's a light, floral scent that brings me right back to middle school.

This thing has saved my life on more than one occasion.

Let me know some of your favorites below! Happy September!
